An enveloping palette of ochre, petrol blue, oxblood and mustard is balanced by warm timber and a richly patterned rug. The dark, textured ceiling heightens the sense of atmosphere, while sculptural furniture, playful lighting and unexpected details give the room energy and personality.
The result is a bold and highly individual den: sociable, comfortable and designed to feel as though its contents have been gathered over time.
Finsbury Park, London
Created as part of our One Room service, this long first-floor den opens onto a large roof terrace and hot tub. It was reimagined as an atmospheric escape for relaxing and gathering with friends and family. The brief called for something bold, playful and immersive, but unmistakably grown-up.
Rather than treating the room as a single space, the layout was organised into a series of connected zones, including a central seating area, a bespoke high-gloss bar and an informal nook for games. A bespoke folding screen, commissioned from artist Kavel Rafferty, acts as both an original artwork and a sculptural spatial divider.
Art sits at the heart of the scheme, alongside a carefully curated mix of design-led furniture and lighting. Poppy colour combinations, playful postmodern references and European design influences bring a collected, expressive quality to the room.
